  • Several students wrote their Class 10 board examinations under the WBBSE in the Ol Chiki script for the first time this year.
  • 24th march 2018, Santhali ring out at Inter Parliamentary Union in Geneva for the first time by a lady named Uma saren who is a Lok sabha MP from Trinamool Congress party, she had spoken in front of delegates of over 178 countries.
  • Manik Soren was among the key contributors from Bangladesh who contributed in building Santhali wikipedia.
  • Pashupati Prasad Mahato, an anthropologist, said this will help boost people’s interest in getting higher education in Santhali.
  • As the language got approval and present in world most viewed platform having alexa rank of no 6 globally sure it will boost new generation students to pursue their higher education in Ol chiki script.
  • Among the 22 official languages in India, Dogri, Bodo and Manipuri have no version of Wikipedia in their own language. Even some have it but some don't have their main script, so santhal people are the most luckyest that they have their own script.
  • Wikipedia is available in nearly 300 languages globally as of August 2018, and this beautiful tribal language got its place in Wikipedia.
  • Kalinga TV Launches ‘Santhali’ News Bulletin which is the one of the very first tribal weekly T.V shows, and also displays headlines in Ol chiki, and the first reader was Malati and she read the first ever tribal news bulletin of the State at 4.30 PM.
